Competition Overview

Cricket Blast - Skills
Each of the affiliated clubs run their own Cricket Blast skills programs on varying days of the week and at a ground near them.

The Cricket Blast skills program is suited to boys and girls new to cricket. They learn the fundamental skills of cricket through modified activities and games.
​
The indicative ages for this program are kids aged 4-8 years old.

Cricket Blast - Competition
The IWHCA coordinates a competition between the affiliated clubs for kids who are ready to apply their fundamental skills in a match against others.
​
The Cricket Blast Competition program is suited to boys and girls new to cricket and have developed some fundamentall skills. Players will continue their learning and development by playing matches each week against different opponents.
​
All equipment is supplied and no protective equipment is required due to the softer ball used.
​
The indicative ages for this program are kids aged 6-9 years old.

Junior Cricket - Stage 1
The IWHCA coordinates competitions for U10s and U11s under Stage 1 playing conditions.

Stage 1 playing conditions are:

Pitch Length: 16m
Number of Overs: 20 per innings
Estimated length of matches: 2.5hrs
Matchday: U10s and U11s Saturday Mornings

Junior Cricket - Stage 2
The IWHCA coordinates competitions for U12s and U13s under Stage 2 playing conditions.
